7:30-8:20.........Children arrive and are pleasantly welcomed. During this time, children busy themselves with child-directed activities such as table toys, books coloring, and play dough.
7:45-8:15.........Breakfast as required.
8:20-9:00pm.........Children attending Mount Pleasant Elementary School are escorted to school by the entire group. School begins at 8:40am. Weather permitting, we will play in the playground during this time. On days we attend programs in the community, we will generally leave from the school for our destination. In the event of a late drop-off, we may return to the Centre prior to our outing. With the exception of pre-planned meals out (picnics, etc.), we will return to the Centre prior to lunch and resume the schedule outlined below. On days we remain in the centre, our schedule will look something like this:
9:00-9:30.........Circle Time/Movement/Music (scarves, pom-poms, bean bags etc.)
9:30-10:00.......Art and/or Sensory Experiences
10:00-10:30......Snack
10:30-11:30.....Outside and/or Gross Motor Play and/or Walk
11:30-12:00.....Lunch Time
12:00-12:30.....Clean Up and Story time
12:30-2:30.....Nap Time or Quiet Time
2:30-2:45.......Gentle Wake Up
2:45-3:00.........Pick up of Children at Mount Pleasant Elementary School
3:00-3:30.........Outdoor play (weather permitting) or indoor free play
3:30-4:00.........Snack
4:30-5:00........ Child-Directed Outdoor and/or Indoor free Play
Note: Some days we will attend activities at outside agencies, libraries and/or community centres, such as drop-in programs and story times. These activities generally take place between the hours of 10:00am and 12:00pm. All enrolled families will be provided with advance notice of any such outings and/or any fieldtrips (with the exception of neighbourhood walking excursions that are part of our daily routine. We will be reachable via telephone at all times).
